During our first Community Livestream of the year today, we peeled back the curtain to reveal what's on the horizon for Halo Infinite and spilled the beans on the plans for the third year of the Halo Championship Series (HCS).
In case you missed the stream, we highly recommend giving it a watch to catch up on what's coming with Infinite's next update, how the studio is shaping the game's future, some longer-term features currently in active development, and what's brewing for HCS. Halo Infinite's upcoming free update, Content Update 29 ("CU29"), is set to drop on January 30. This update brings a fresh Arena map, a Covenant object palette with new Forge features, a new armor core, and customization rewards. Additionally, it introduces the first of three free Operations, kicking off with the Halo Wars-themed "Spirit of Fire."
For a closer look at some key aspects of this latest update, stay tuned to Halo Waypoint in the coming days.
Looking further down the road, we've confirmed several player-requested features currently in active development. This includes "Match Composer" functionality for matchmaking, new avenues to earn past customization content, an updated networking model, and a new anti-cheat initiative.
As these developments inch closer to release, we'll have plenty more details to share. For now, we're thrilled to let the team work their magic, and we eagerly anticipate these significant updates landing later this year.
